What is Aquamid?

11Aquamid is a non re-absorbable, long-lasting product for facial correction. It remains soft like human tissue once injected and does not migrate from the point of injection. Scientific research has shown that the gel will stay in its place unchanged for at least 10 years and there is no reason to expect any changes after this period. The cosmetic result is satisfying for both you and the doctor and the procedure does not have to be repeated once the desired result is achieved. In most cases this is after one or two procedures. Progressive ageing of the skin does continue and it required, extra Aquamid can be injected as necessary.

The results obtained with Aquamid are immediate since the gel is homogenous and does not contain any microparticles. Aquamid is a soft tissue implant and the effect is clearly linked to the volume injected.

What can Aquamid be used for?

Aquamid can be used to:

  • Make lips fuller
  • Remodel or enhance cheeks
  • Remodel or remove chin clefts
  • Remove or reduce deep wrinkles and folds around the lips, nose and between eyebrows
  • Reduce the prominence of scars
  • Other types of facial correction
  • Make aesthetic/reconstructive augmentation on the body due to congenital, post-traumatic, postsurgical tissue insufficiency
  • Smooth dimples after liposuction
  • Nose correction

Our lips have a thin outer layer which contains less melanin and lack of oil glands, therefore, prone to dryness. Insufficient collagen also contributes to the loss of moisture or drying of the lips. Without protection, our lips can be easily damaged due to exposure to harmful rays of the sun. It’s really scary that dermatologists are seeing an increase in lip cancer these days. If we do not do more to protect our lips, we might end up having lip cancer.

Putting on a lipstick to redden our lips is not enough. It should be perfectly healthy beneath those lipsticks. This brings a whole new dimension to lipcare. Lipcare products like lip creams with alpha hydroxyl acids that are used to exfoliate dead skin, and products to even out wrinkles above the lip line are essential in caring for our lips.
